I slice the servo tape with an xacto knife as Im pulling it off, a lot of companies use that type of case and yes the clips are very easy to break pulling or twisting on them too much... I've had good luck doing it this way, no more gouges on my chassis or cases and no more broken clips!

It only works with the regular hard to remove servo tape, the 3M or Parma gel type tapes don't cut like that so well.
