It doesn’t show very well in the photo but where the reflective layer meets the alloy there is a ridge and this is where the unit sits on the engine head. The old type of casing used to sit on the exhaust outlet and carb inlet but the V2 casing actually sits on top of the engine which means a much more consistent fit with different types of engines and it means the bulb sits closer to the head
