Hey guys. I finally put my daughters SC10 back together that I picked up used.
Good electronics on it for a good price. Only real issue is that the gear diff looked a bit beat up and I can hear the gears clicking every so often when I test it out.
so my question is this, I am used to building ball diffs, and this has a gear diff. The plastic outer teeth that mesh with the rest of the transmission looks good however the internal gears did look warn.
Is it worth it to stick with the gear diff for kids usage or, should I just upgrade her to a ball diff since that is what I know. I know they say the gear diffs are supposed to be highly realiable and she will be using stock motor power.
If I do decide to go with a ball diff, other than the obivous ball diff setup (outdrives, gear, diff and thrust balls, etc) is there anything else I need to do to fit one of this in on a car that originally was using a gear diff?
Thanks again.
