Today was round 5 of a 6 round summer series that we started in June

We had 4 races in June and July and then the track closed for vacation for the month of August and then we did a rebuild of the layout that took another 6 weeks and then there was an issue with the lights, blah, blah, blah so here we are December 10th and finally getting back to the series. I did not own a truggy when the series started but I was sitting in 2nd place overall in buggy behind Team Losi Driver Chris Wheeler. This new layout has a 230 foot front straight away so I busted out my 2 year old clocked JL with a worn crank and bad bearings and a Picco Carb

I knew this was the engine for that long straight. I clutched it really aggressive and had trouble getting used to the electric power band and pretty much spent the 2 heats of qualifying spinning my tires. I wound up with BQ in buggy.
In truggy with my Clocked B5 I managed to wheel that to the TQ spot for the main. ( sorry Neal, the B5 is working perfect so I didnt run the new P5)
Let me just say that both my JL and my B5 are tired and old and both have 8+ gallons on them and both have recently been pinched and both engines were flawless all day. Not one flame out and not one tuning issue with either engine.
Buggy B main, I lead from start to finish and checked out early. Took the win by a lap and a half over the field mostly because there are not too many engines that can keep up with a clocked JL on a 230 foot straightaway

Bumped up the Buggy A main which was 2 races out. Fuel mileage is not great with the JL so I pitted once in the 10 minute B main and once in the 15 minute A main. In the A main I was up against 4 Pro Drivers and managed a respectable 5th place which also helped me close the gap on Chris Wheeler for overall standings as he had issues and finished 7th or 8th.
Truggy A main- I was juiced to have the TQ spot and jumped out to an early lead for 2 laps but bobbled a few times and got passed. I was in the 2 spot after about 4-5 laps and broke the screw in the rear aluminum hub which ended my day. I am having mixed feelings about this HB D8T because when its working its really stable and fast and I can do great things, but it breaks just about every main I have had it in for the last 2 months
Overall a great day and allot of fun and 2 old ass engines got me through the whole day with no issues at all. Next Sunday 12/18 is the finals with double points but no one is close enough to me to take away a top 3 finish. Clockworks for the win!
