I have finished the break in on the Full Monty edition of the Fusion X3. I did have HES do an initial break in and I finished up running about 3/4 of a gallon of 30% O'Donnell Speed Blend through it.
I was very impressed with this little 3 port upon initial inspection and early break in. Smooth consistent idle from the first start. I am running a M2C variable weight clutch with all of the supplied grub screws (12 I think), regular aluminum shoes and .95 springs all around on a Werks 2058 pipe/header. My carb is set close to a final race tune and she will come in at around 210-220f after each tank.
I chose this engine because I was looking for a dedicated buggy engine with a nice linear power band that would not ramp up to quickly, yet provide enough low end grunt to clear a wicked triple-quad section we have at our track. I was initially concerned that this little 3 port might lack on the bottom, knowing full well it would scream on top. That concern has been put to bed
Not only do I have more than enough bottom end, I did not have to aggressively tune my clutch to get that low end. I was floored when I noticed my buggy was doing mini wheelies out of corners when I would get on the gas

(on well worn tires I might add).
I will be shooting some video in the next couple of weeks to better demonstrate the performance of this engine. For now I can say that Monty has done a very nice job squeezing every ounce of the performance this little 3 port can provide through some nice clean modifications (tuned as Monty would prefer it

)and some nice upgrades to the button and bearings.
I am also hoping to demonstrate the performance of this engine versus another well know modded engine from our friends up North

. I can truly say that I think this engine can hold it own against any other modded 3 or 5 port out there.
