It's harder to turn a profit with the smaller scale vehicles so companies have been reluctant to produce any quality small cars. LC Racing has the best small scale vehicles by a long shot.

I use Hotracing steel gears on my vehicles for that very reason. They're louder but no more stripped gears or stopping to pick out rocks from the gears.

Keep in mind how big some of those esc's are compared to your vehicle. I've had experience with the LC Racing motor and the 10BL60 esc with no problems. I can't comment on the Leopard motors.

Not an upgrade but you could get the parts necessary to change it to a SCT or rally car. It's entertaining to learn how much different the same vehicle will drive with just a tire and body change.
