Oooh, yeah I shortcut that issue. My spool, and diff are straight up Awesomatix parts. I couldn't deal with the 3D printed diff and spool, and my pulleys are aluminum units I found online.

Just indoors. Don't cut them until you need them, and the foam exposed by the cut will be fresher than the outside.

Tires generally have some shelf life, if you cut them after storage.

Running modified means a crowded, busy chassis. The capacitor bank and fan are surprisingly effective at keeping that ESC cool, it's a 2cm fan I found online for like $3.
