I'm not sure if that ESC was designed to have a sensorless mode fallback. But sensored ESCs are supposed to be used with a sensor cable at all times.

You won't be able to bypass internally, you still need a regulated power source. You might be able to use an external BEC but I'd either be sending it in for repair or just replacing it.
