Visit the track to see what people are running, having support there would probably be the most important deciding factor in choosing your electronics (you can steal gear ratios, timing, etc...)

There's no "best" like some people are saying. It purely depends on your track since what people are running there and what support you will get will be the most important not the equipment....

Just a piece of advice, get a cheap infrared temp gun ($10) to get a better sense of motor temps because while a real bad motor will smell, overheating can cause degradation of the magnets over time....

yep they get a little extra boost from the start...

yep they get a little extra boost from the start but if you crash once, the advantage doesn't make a difference. If anything it shortens the life of your battery.
