Asa, ok so then more plunge is running the knuckles higher or lower? From what I have read in high grip conditions raise the knuckles,low grip lower the knuckles. Or do I have it wrong?

IMO, yes. Mainly depending on the jumps. The dirt is very hard packed as we all know. If there are a lot of large jumps it can be murder or the clutch bell/ spur.
