Get yourself a SkyRC BD250 discharger (or an used BD200 if you are on a budget) and it will save yourself a lot of hassles. Then use storage function on your charger, done.

The only downside of connectors is they can get disconnected in a light crash that wouldn't otherwise damage your car, is very unlikely but still a possibility.
