Is USGT 17.5? If so I would not run the metal gears. They are perfectly fine in 17.5 stock. I raced the TBevo6 a fair bit and never had a failure, they have the same gears.

Indeed. The new TA08 arms have the same lower ball mount but there is no sanding needed. They just fit fine.

Maybe the newer manufactured arms that are sold as spares are a better fit? Tamiya has...
