Most likely this is a case of misidentifying 1's and I's. Try swapping around any that are in your serial number. Mine had a few and took me 4 tries to get the sequence correct.

Have you tried this without the sensor cable plugged in to rule out a bad cable or motor sensors? After that, try doing a factory reset to both speedos. Then make sure they have the latest firmware...
