The GT LPF 2.0 should be fine for all offroad applications. It's a cool ESC, and you can do a lot more with the included programming card then a Tekin RS.

I would say LPF 2.0 is the better...

I think 2 should be enough for awhile, you should be able to get 15 minutes of runtime with 5000mah. 3 would be better, 4 is great, but man, at 4s, unless you're getting zippy's, that's $7-800 worth...
