Which KO support said that? The clocking crystal can be replaced if damaged or the CPU can be bad. Maybe you got a bad one, I've seen it happen as nothing is perfect.

EX-1 with the KR-411FH is slower then when using the KR-413FH. The processor in the KR-413FH is faster.
So if you use the KR-411FH with the EX-2 it's the same speed as the EX-1 with the KR-411FH.
