turn off esc and motor temp cutoff. It misfires. As does all brand ESC's. Problem should be solved (assuming you've exhausted the first variables of sensor wire etc.)

I have both. Motiv has slightly more torque and r1 slightly more top end. Granted my r1 was the $145 1700 gauss version. I'd buy the Motiv for $100 in retrospect for the savings
