Can't agree with that. Deformation comes with loss of kinetic energy. It is true about arms, you can achieve higher cornerspeed with hard lower arms (with max grip of course) than with soft lower...

First thing you want to do is use longer screws and bolts inside the lower bulkheads to fix the arms support. Then you should consider re-inforce the upper bulkheads, they can break easily...
