yes, that engine is worn out. Thats is the worlds most abused engine if it really had 9 liters on it. it should just now be getting fully broken in at that about of fuel.

Inside the carb with the Venturi out... You can also get 1.5-1.7mm between carb and back of idle screw gets you the same and easier to measure... However you cannot do that with the new 3 needle carb

Once I get the bottom set for smooth idle and no lean bog, I VERY rarely touch the bottom, just maybe an hour every now and then on top.
