Tamiya tried this with the 414 cars. Most drivers removed it. Although it was just in the front of the chassis. It stiffened the cars up too much. And lost steering.

Bet Yokomo quality kills any 3 racing crap. This car will be solid for asphalt. Black carpet will struggle. And for a young kid or beginner. It’ll be a solid car.

I have 2 of them. Only ran one car so far on asphalt twice. There’s a lot of potential for sure. But I don’t race enough to find a solid set up

Not sure what after market companies made bottom plates for that car. But look for some aftermarket companies. I’m sure you’ll find many available chassis plates

Run the same body without the holes cut out....

Run the same body without the holes cut out. You’ll go the same speed. Some things will help. Cutting the body up like that does nothing for track performance
