Looks like you are running the right gearing but the outside temp might be the culprit I would open up the body where the motor sits to let some more air also you didn’t mention what fan you are...

Check and see if there`s no binding on the diffs , wheel hubs , etc . i run the XR8 plus with the matching 1900 kv motor on my TLR 4.0 buggy and it runs cool as a cucumber .
