You are sure your phone is not connected to home WiFi or track WiFi when attempting to connect to esc? Your phone will default to the better connection when given two choices... And internet...

-Have you tried a different battery pack?
-low voltage cut off? Is it set to auto or a specific voltage? Or off. Personally i always select off as do most racers..

What brand receiver do you uses? I found futaba ones to not have the tightest bite on servo lead connections in fact I'll fill the empty channels with old connectors to ensure snug fitting wires..

you are looking only at the servo arm position when you say it doesn't center right? Not the position of the wheels?

I would focus on making sure the servo returns to center(ignoring the wheels)...
