The brass skid weight eliminates that problem. Before I had the skid weight I used to CA glue the front edge of the skid to the chassis which prevented the shovel effect.

I love them. I removed the side weights and only run the tresrey under diff weight and the inserts. They make a small but noticeable improvement IMO.
