I would take a screw to home depot and find an E clip that will fit on it. That way there's something on the back side to prevent the screw from pulling out.

I've heard rumors of possibly next year, but those were just rumors. You wont see it anytime soon though. You're better off converting one.
Heck, the 808E was a step back from the conversion...

The XB9 reverted back to the old XB8 gearing, so it is the same. A few of us ran the old XB8 gears in the 2011 808 to get the better gear ratio. It allows for much better acceleration.
