I used 180 grit and thru 220 and works perfectly. I'm sure other's have used different grits but those I listed have worked just fine.

Its a matter of preference bro. I would say most people runs a 4s. The nice thing about running 2 2s is a lot of people already have these lipo's laying around so they chose to run the 2x2s way....
