On castles site it states ok to legthen wires, what is your angle with this advice?

I have had NO issues with mine, I added bullet connectors as with many other mfg using them I can swap motors...

I am just guessing here but I would start with a 23-24 pinon on that motor. Run it on the track for 3-4 minutes and temp it to be sure. Pat and I were just talking about this on your car;)

for those running the flux 2200 motor in the ve8 I can only get 2 screws in the motor mount.... I would assume that this the same for the others with 2200 mamba's????? should I be concerned?

you have too much motor with either of those for 2 3S batteries in series, now if you parralell them the 2650 would be ok for indoor, provided its geared right and the "c" rating is up to par.

if you are going to run mechanical brakes then yes for sure, if you have a 200+oz servo then yes to that also, otherwise you can squeek by with out it.

EDIT = you can shorten the wires with no issues per the HPI web page.

OH BTW I cannot wipe the grin off my face from my first actual track practice last night. WOW this car is good, Cased it hard a few times and over shot a triple 5-6 times no issues , no cracks...
