It depends on which savox servo. The 1257 uses no shims, the 1251 uses some but you'll have to do a search in this thread for a better answer on that one.

Looking at the manual on page 30 it would appear that it calls for the Tnut on the left side as looking from the rear. Which of course would put the head on the right side.

Yep, and every savox is a 1251 and that is what everyone is using.

Read my posts again. I only mentioned the 1257. Apparently different savox servos have different mounting tab offsets.
