Couple AE guys at my track are running a short alum chassis as well.

All you can do at this point is shorten the wheelbase by grinding down the rear arms and putting a 2-2.5mm spacer behind it.

All of the guys in our area are either running the 44.1 chassis/top plate/etc or we are shortening the wheelbase by shaving off 2mm from the rear arms and shimming them up/forward.
