Size of track. Track surface (loose or high traction)

Tekin 4pole motors like the 1900 don't really need or like timing. I'd start with punch no higher than 2 and no more than 3.5 degrees...

It's true that "smoothness" is irrelevant at high RPM's. Tekin goes sensorless at high RPM's for performance reasons.

All I can add is that my Tekin T8 motor dropped 12 -15 degrees when I pulled...

Have to disagree with you. It is sensorless that has some heat and efficiency gains. That's why the Tekin RX8 (and I believe the Castle systems) shift from sensored to sensorless at high RPM's.

It might be adequate, but is it competitive? The Tekin T8 1900/2050 are running around 2000w vs the HobbyWing at 1350w.

Did you update the box or did you go from USB Link V3.2 to V3.3 and call it a day?

Factory Reps say the Tekin T8 can run to 200 degrees, but that's pushing it. For normal motors, I wouldn't go over 170 degrees.

Make sure you're using 0 timing with your motor. 1/8 motors don't...

At most tracks, 1/8 conversions and 4S batteries are not legal. Even when the conversions are allowed to run, many times they are limited to 2S batteries and less than 1/8 scale motors. Definately...

Xerun 150A

Just out of curiosity, is the dead band adjustment an ESC adjustment or a transmitter adjustment? I don't see such an adjustment on the Hobbywing USA link for a Xerun 150A ESC.

Xerun 150A esc

Does anyone know what gauge wire is used on this ESC (Xerun 150A) for the motor wires? They look massive, but I'm thinking 12 gauge would work for extending them to a Tekin 2050.

One of the most popular 1/8 ESC's would be the Tekin RX8. With a continuous Current rating of 210 Amps. Just saying, I wouldn't trust an 80A ESC.
