AVID Piston Setup

Here's my most recent setup for indoor clay at West Coast RC. For now I am running our 2+2 1.5 and 1.1 pistons with AE 30wt, although at times I'll run 27.5 wt rear oil.

Sticking with just the stock AE pistons, 1.7 in the rear will probably help. Typically 32.5wt AE oil is the best I've found.

Just contact AVID and we'll send a new set out to you! I've seen 1-2 hexes where the drill hole for the screw was off a bit. If you're at OCRC, just talk to Jake and he might have one on the wall....

3mm shafts compared to 3.5mm take up less volume inside the shock at full compression. Less volume compensation inside the shock= more oil, less air. 3mm shafts also let then re-do the seal package...

Triad of course :) .... the shocks are really nice and dropped my laptimes (about 3 seconds over a 16 lap 5 min run) but cost more.

Yes, the spur gear is molded and it has drive dogs on both sides for the slipper pads. Once you see them both side by side you'll see it's got quite a few differences with the VTS slipper.

At SDRC, I think my fastest buggy lap was 25.9 but I had a few 26.2 or 26.3. In 4wd I did some 25.4-25.5 and in SC10 I did some low 27s, but mostly low 28s.
