Personally, I would recommend the M03 for its ease of driving...It can be run on most surfaces without having spinout problems faced by the RWD M04...
But if you're going to run on standard surfaces...

M04 are rear wheel drives while the M03 are front...

M04 are rear wheel drives while the M03 are front wheel drives...
The M or L behind the M03/4 indicates the length of the chassis provided...

If you have a M03M, you can just remove the middle...

Lightly tuned is a 28T motor, its slower than the Sports Tuned...
It has more torque and brushes can be changed...But the motor is not rebuildable...

I tighten till I cannot turn the hex nut anymore...Try driving a slightly loose, but not slipping diff...Then tighten it and see which you like bah...

Either way would do, I believe the idler...
