I think your analysis is correct. Make sure to lube each ball thoroughly and set your diff so as not to slip. That should eliminate the problem.

Be sure to disassemble the pack before grinding the case. In order to make it fit I removed as much material as possible while still leaving something there.

Yeah I just did the same thing only with a bench grinder. I have to say though that I thought the 3600 was a little flat compared to the 3200's. Odd since it's supposed to be 25C vs. 20C?:weird:
