He probably had the option springs on his truck. They are a little bigger in diameter and don't rub as much h. Both blue and hard ano bodies are the same od.

Harder, less wear, smoother. But it's not a huge difference. As long as the anodizing isn't worn off the inside of the shock bodies I would just run them. Once the anodize wears off you are running...
