Yep...that's what I would do. Yes, back it all with white. Make sure you get enough coverage of blue to make sure it pops. Not sure how many coats with the spaz stix stuff, but definitely lay...

If you are using lets say pearl blue, simply lay down the blue, do your silver and back the blue with silver while at it. Back...
