Changing the length of spring does not change spring rate, it just changes how far the spring can compress. However, a shorter spring will "feel" stiffer as the compression rate is more aggressive....

the factory team kits come with ball diffs, the rtr vehicles come with gear diffs.

I would recommend starting with the 3.5 toe block at most tracks, if it is high bite go ahead and try the 3.
