I have the same truck. I went with a spektrum...

Just because the battery is at 7.4V, does it mean...

Just because the battery is at 7.4V, does it mean the output is at 7.4 as well? When it's fully charged, it's really at 8.4V. I'm not running HV anything and I don't know anyone at the track who...

It absolutely will. I can't speak to the voltage...

It absolutely will. I can't speak to the voltage part but a lot of servos have measurements done at 6V to give a proper comparison.

I use that servo in my buggies.
