You really should not need grease. The diff was probably set a little on the loose side. You want the diff to the pinon to be on the tight side. The grears will wear out over time as well though.

Alum shocks are much better then the RTR plastic shocks. There are two versions of the alum shocks. The newer ones have a "velvet" coating. Both are awesome!
