I agree with tech support. I don't run a fan on my SCT with a 7.5 and no issues. I ran the fan with an 6.5 in the 4wd but that was due to the ESC being in the back of the car in a tight space....

Yes it would be recommended to have an RSX in a modfied SCT. All the same tuning. You should not need the fan with that setup though.
