Yes it is different. You need the one that is used to adjust the little Mamba 25 ESC. You plug the servo lead into the cable.

Do you have to worry about the gear mesh changing on a hard landing with the motor on top? Seems to me like it may cause a problem.

Yes, the UBEC steps the voltage down to 6v so you don't fry the servo. By running a separate one the ESC will run cooler.



Some do, some don't - it just depends on the ESC temp you are...
