I had the same problem a while back when trying to use the first supercharger software and it was with Windows Vista AND you have to right click on the Speed Passion icon (on your desktop) and RUN IT...

I am not to sure because the LCD card says V1.02 when switched on, but in the software on my laptop it came up with a totally different version number when it worked.
