Gorgeous truck. Absolutely gorgeous. But for a $400 ROLLER, this truck should be absolutely unbreakable. For real. For the price, it should shrug off bullets and multi-story drops... o.O

Absolutely. HPI's bodies are always on the wider, bulkier side. They work ok, but usually need to clear the muffler/exhaust on the nitro version of the vehicle (HPI's bodies tend to pull double duty)...

^ Yah, they're cool, but it's literally twice the work and twice the funds. Ordered a set of aluminum collars and caps. Had to buy two full sets. I want some spring perches... I'll need two sets. God...

Thanks for the advice. I wasn't even aware that there were chrome-plated drive cups available. I'll hunt a set down. And yeah, so far, only Duratrax has a vaguely track-inspired tread. Pro-Line,...

I've got a couple, but you can never have too many parts. I'd love to get a hold of a lower chassis...

It looks huge in the pics for some reason, but the wheelbase is only 300mm. 1/10 stadium trucks seem to hover around 295. 2.8" wheels might be just the ticket. I'll check out the buggy wheels too,...

Good idea. I'll be hitting up the track again soon for shock oil. But I'd definitely go with 1/10 scale 2.2 inch wheels. MAYBE 2.8. Technically, it's still a 10th scale truck, but with 1/8 scale...

Finishing it up now. Turnbuckles are done. I'm not satisfied with the shock situation, though. I'd imagine that those plastic spacers are gonna flex under load, so I'm looking at different options....

That was the first thing I noticed. That's the chassis' weak point, no question. That was the other reason I opted for an aluminum front anti-bending plate (or brace or whatever the official term...

Normally, I'd agree wholeheartedly, but the Bullet is NOTORIOUS for it's soft, brittle plastics. The hub carriers tend to disintegrate, and I've seen plenty of pics of the shock towers split into...

Project Track Bae: The Monster Stadium Truggy

I walked into the a local track after 20 years and the racing but bit hard. I needed a truck immediately. I've been a loyal HPI guy since the late 90's, and I stubbornly refuse to change. But the...

Great work on a sick conversion. I'll bet that the elongated chassis makes a tremendous difference. My only [wholly un-requested] suggestion would be a longer body, LOL.

I literally just bought a Bullet last weekend, and I'm impatiently waiting. I'll be undertaking this very same conversion, and this thread has been immensely helpful.

Project Pro 3

Late last year, I dug my old HPI RS4 Pro 3s out of the closet. It was never an overly popular car, and that was part of it's appeal for me. I randomly happened across a seller who had some new old...

Having a Terrible Time Dying Touring Car Wheels

I hope I put this in the right section... So, I found some wicked HPI touring car wheels, but they're chrome. I abhor chrome. I've seen other posts of people dying RPM truck wheels (and I...
