You are a bit undergeared you can probably go with a 25t or 26t pinion with a 78t spur. That way you will gain more power and still have some bottom end torque to clear the jumps.

make sure that you do not have the brace on backwards, check the manual for the right direction, but it sounds to me like you put the part of the brace with the raised part facing inward....
