if you need weight you might consider the left side of the car between motor & servo. And if you don't mind spending a little money try a 4 wheel scale.

Not so smooth

It scared me a little to take apart a brushless motor too but all it takes is the removal of three screws and a visual inspection for debris. Make sure to mark the motors timing if its not all ready...
