I ran across one of these for a pretty low price the other day, and I'm considering getting it for another option in my old school T Maxx.

Exactly, I always experiment with fuel and plugs in new engines to see what runs best. I usually don't mess with shims unless I have to. All the engines I've ever ran said in the manuals 33%-36%...

With the trans issue it sounds like you blew the primary gear in there. I have completely shredded those on my T Maxx before. Sometimes they will lose a few teeth and do exactly as you described.

Hmmm, that would be an interesting test. The only real noise difference I've noticed is when comparing side exhaust and rear exhaust engines. A TRX 2.5R for example is far louder than a TRX Pro .15...

Huh Ya know I don't think the older ones did have 2 of them, but I can't remember. I'll have to dig my old 2.5R out and have a look at it. IIRC the issue I had was due to the carb body where it...

Hmmm that's interesting, an R & D facility in the US too. Maybe they will become Traxxas version 2.0. They can definitely take some notes on parts support from Traxxas anyways. If not for the Savage...

I've heard of that mod before when the 2.5 was still a fairly new engine. It did help quite a bit from the ones I saw run. The only down side is the cost of OS carbs. They don't make the 10D any more...

Ah yes I see that now, must have been outdated when I looked at it, it was about $550 for the nitro one then. $490 is perfectly acceptable in my books:D

I'll keep a lookout for these at the LHS...
