That's what I do on mine, seems to work well enough. I mixed green and red primary springs from the tuning kit. With 45wt oil it never bucks, the spring rate at the end of travel is very soft

They do have much better seals and help make the truck less bouncy, especially jumping. I did find the XTs included shock rates to be too soft, though, seemed to have a hard time keeping the rear up....
