That is exactly why the increased the center diff size in the MP9. 5k oils were cooking off in longer mains. I still have that problem in my front and rear diffs. Just service them more often.

It is a front/rear diff with plastic spur. Don't think that came with the kit. Some people do it because the plastic spur is quieter. I saved about 20grams by doing the same thing.
