I didn't check it, becuase it came built from the factory. Now that I took a look at it, the nut was very loose. My fault for not checking!

I got my son a Savage SS for xmas and were having a problem. We already melted 2 spur gears durning the engine break-in.

Its next to impossible to look and make sure the gears are the right amount...

I'd like to get a monster truck (something mainstream, good quality), somewhere in the $300-$500 range, engine included.

I also want to be able to build it, everything these days seems to be RTR....
