I ended up going back through the setup again and as you said I think it may jst have been the battery type that I selected because it worked fine straight away.

i tried re-programming but when i plug the battery in it turns on straight away and goes through the flashing cycle and i try and program it but it jst keeps flashing in its cycle

thanks for all the feedback. i ended up going with the slash becase atm im jst looking for something to bash around for a bit and i may do some racing in the future witht the slash or i might buy one...
