Default Thinking of RC racing again

Hi Everyone,

Been thinking of getting back into RC racing. I've got a Losi XXX-SCT stadium truck. Is it worth even racing with it anymore? Or should I look into something else?

Best suggestion is to go check out what's running at track.

Along that line, yes, go check out your local track. Many don't have a SC/ST class anymore but on the other hand, many of those do are loose outdoor dirt; conditions on which that truck could still be competitive.

Questions?? RACING? Maybe.

2WD stadium trucks are still viable.
See the class rules and check out the track to see what tires work!
Transponders and more.
it's all fun,if you are willing to set up your truck to have some fun.
I don't race anymore,but was a LOT of fun.
Losi? SURE!!!!!! I used to race an RC 10-T4 on CARPET.Damn, that was fun.
I ran some indoor clay tracks, too.
the BIG thing is.... TIRES! I cannot stress that anymore.

That question really depends on what's going on in your area. Maybe you're somewhere where those are popular or maybe you're somewhere they aren't. Do you have a local truck that you could go check out to see who is running what? That would be my suggestion

Maaaaan I didn't even think about that. I know stadium truck was super back in when I use to go the track. That was at least 6 years ago. Will definitely pay it a visit on race day.

Charge some batteries and hit the track, I sure the track would stick you in a class that is closest. I know around here some sportsman run buggies truck all together. If anything you can get some laps in.

I learned the hard way on this and went to the local hobby store.
I would have been much better off going to the track and talking to others.

Questions?? Back into racing?

It really depends on type of racing you are considering.
Indoor off road? Carpet?
Short course tucks are HOT,lately.
My old stadium truck? I just bash.

Run it once and you'll be hooked again, spending $$ on a new setup...

No doubt there are still some places where SC racing still thrives, but even though it's not quite dead yet (as some people have been saying for a while), it's has sure been declining from its peak for quite some time now. Anyway, it's still fun, locally we still have enough people racing them to keep it fun, although most of our previously SC-only racers are now getting into 2WD buggies as well. We'll see.

I'll keep my stadium trucks. NO conversions for me.

I would hang on to it and run a few beginner class races with your SCT. See what the big classes at your local track is and maybe see if you can take one for a spin to see how it feels. Big difference on how a SCT feels compared to a buggy.
