battery charging

I tried to search this, but had no luck. What is the best way to discharge and charge batteries?
I use stick packs right now but plan to break them down into side by sides. I use a indi reactor 30 to discharge right now but as soon as i get my bats done im getting a smart tray.
How is the best way to do all this, tray each battery after i race and let them stand until the next weeks races and throw them on the charger?
Or discharge with my reactor 30 after my race then let the stand until the next weeks races then tray them right before i charge the next week?
How do alot of you other racers maintain your batteries?
Thanks

Just as long as you remove all the voltage from the cells entirely there shouldn't be anything wrong with leaving them for a week. The other method will work fine too, but be sure that there is a bit of charge left when you store them for a week. Discharge the cells as much as possibe before putting them on the tray. It is very important that you don't put charged cells on the tray. The pressure will build inside the cell and pretty soon they will vent to release the pressure, damaging the integrity of the cell.

well what i do is after a race i just put the pack on my tray. But as i heard and noticed myself, it is better if I take the pack out, use a indireactor at 30amps, then take it off and put it on the try (for conditioning and equilizing) sry for my spelling. If u have those items, run your packs, put it on the Indi reactor and after that put it on your tray, on the conditioning setting if there is one..., i plan to get one soon.

Charge @ 5.0-6.0a
Run pack
Discharge for 5 minutes
Tray the cells

You can either tray your cells after each heat or after every month. Depends how serious you are about racing.
