Default Kyosho radio futaba receiver not talking

Bought RC sailboat at garage sale. Replaced batteries. Turned on receiver and servos responded. Turned on radio and does not talk to receiver. Receiver is Futaba FPR122je. Radio is Perfex kt-1. I know nothing about crystals and compatibility. Thanks

Not surprising. Dont know about these specific items, but normally items of different makes won't talk. Think your tv remote controls. If it's got crystals, probably better off replacing with something newer anyway.

Default update info

Receiver in sailboat had different crystal frequency than radio. Receiver is futaba fpr22je am. How do I know if it is 75 or 27? It had a crystal marked type72-11 plugged in it but former owner could have just plugged it in. Radio has a type 27-5. Thanks in advance again.

the older frequencies (NON 2.4 GHZ) all ran on cross brand compatible frequency channels. IE if crystals matched they should work with all brand reviever/ transmitter.

its a frequency so its more like a standard FM music radio , vs a TV remove, most of which are infrared beam, as to not mess with radio frequencies.

I have only used a couple FM/AM radio, and honestly don't know much about crystals. The crystals need to match though, so both be type 27-5 for example. one for receiver one for transmitter.

english speaks to english, not english speaks to german.
